HOW ARE THE CEU’S REPORTED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES?

Upon successful completion of the exam (70%), LALWT sends to you via e-mail your Certificate of Complete; in addition, we will report your hour(s) to the Department of Financial Services.

IN WHAT FORM CAN I GET CEU’S?

Text form – When the course is Purchased, the text will download. Then, the adjuster must successfully complete an exam (answering seventy (70) per cent of the questions). There are approximately six (6) questions per credit hour.Video form – Unique to LALWT is the adjuster’s ability to Purchase also the video of the text course. Tim Jesaitis presents most of the courses live, and then he prepares a transcript (text). The DFS does not permit purchase solely of the video. It is offered by LALWT as a supplement to the text. But here’s the kicker – one (1) hour of video translates to two (2) hours of text! (Yes, I guess I do talk that fast!) So, with the purchase of the supplemental video, you can complete your course work in half the time! Once the course is purchased, it will be listed in your Classroom. Just click on it to watch. If you are not able to watch completely the video in one sitting, the course stays in your Classroom so that you can come back to it when you are ready.

HOW MANY CREDIT HOURS DO I NEED TO MAINTAIN MY ADJUSTER’S LICENSE?

Adjusters licensed through the State of Florida, Department of Financial Services, are required to complete twenty-four (24) hours of approved continuing education units (CEU’s) every two (2) years. The hours are broken down as follows: two (2) hours in ethics; ten (10) hours of law; and twelve (12) hours of optional topics.

HOW ARE THE CLER’S REPORTED TO THE FLORIDA BAR?

Attorneys are responsible for reporting to the Bar credit hours earned. Upon successful Purchase of a course, LALWT will provide to the attorney the course approval number. Then, the attorney logs into the Florida Bar’s web site (www.flabar.org) to report the hour(s).

HOW MANY CREDIT HOURS DO I NEED TO MAINTAIN MY LEGAL LICENSE?

Members of the Florida Bar are subject to a Continuing Legal Education Requirement (CLER). Each member is assigned a reporting date and required to attend thirty (30) hours of approved CLE every three (3) years, five (5) of which are in the area of ethics, professionalism, substance abuse, or mental illness awareness.
